This unit comes with an attached pouch, TWO NEW 300 MHZ PROBES, complete Operator and Service manuals on CD and a power cord.
This is an immaculate and well cared for instrument. The traces are sharp and as readable as when new.
I personally stand behind this scope. If the buyer is unhappy with anything about this instrument, they may return it within 30 days, no questions.
- Once returned in the same condition as it left here, I will refund the sale price. Buyer pays and is responsible for all shipping matters both ways.
- We have rebuilt then sold over 400 HP and Tektronix scopes on the internet. My techs are the best and our feedback says it all.
--------------------------
- The 54510A Digitizing Oscilloscope is a general purpose repetitive and real time oscilloscope, fully programmable and transportable. This scope has two input channels and an external trigger input. It also features full HP-IB programmability, powerful triggering, easy waveform storage, automatic measurements, and instant hardcopy output. Any of the older HP printers or plotters with HP-IB interfaces can be connected as a hardcopy device.
- In the repetitive mode, the scope can construct a waveform from repeated acquisitions with sample placement precise to 10 psec relative to the analog trigger. Therefore timing measurement accuracy between two channels can be made accurate to 10 psec.
In the realtime mode. A complete waveform can be captured with a single trigger event such as a narrow noise glitch. (1 nsec sample interval). Great for finding rare glitches. Complex trigger events can be defined such as; “edge”, “Pattern”, “State”, “Delay”, or “TV”.
-------------------------
Choosing the right scope for your application
You need to purchase a proper scope for your application. In general the first consideration is bandwidth, but the decision is not that simple. You also need to be aware of the bandwidth in both the “Single Shot / Real Time” mode as well as the “Repetitive” mode.
- Repetitive mode - In the repetitive mode the waveform is constructed by triggering and acquiring data on successive repeating events. If the particular signal of interest is repetitive like a system clock, then a very accurate waveform can be constructed from repeated acquisitions. Data is randomly captured into a circular buffer through an Analog/Digital converter. Then a fine interpolator is used to precisely measure (40 psec or better), the time between the last sample taken and the analog trigger event. Data can now be placed in a memory buffer precisely positioned in time. With successive acquisitions, the buffer is eventually filled. High bandwidth can be achieved with relatively slow and less expensive A/D converters.
- Real Time / Single Shot mode - In this mode, the entire waveform must be captured on a single trigger. Naturally this requires a very high performance Analog/Digital converter. The fine interpolator is still used to place data precisely relative to the analog trigger event.
- The bottom line on bandwidth is - If you are trouble shooting and looking for a rare glitch that might cause an error in your system, you need to think about “Real Time / Single Shot bandwidth”. On the other hand if you are designing a clock distribution system and are looking at repetitive clocks, then repetitive bandwidth will work fine for you.
- Bandwidth, sample rate, channel count, memory depth, and trigger features must all be considered. If you are trouble shooting logic circuits, the complex trigger features will be very important.
- The HP 54501A is optimized to be a high bandwidth repetitive scope, with a low bandwidth single shot capability.

- Be fair! Our feedback policy is firm. If you bid and don't pay, you WILL get a negative, regardless of how many retaliatory negatives we receive. Buyers can see thru that nonsense. We have over 2000 positive sales on our combined sites and do everything we can to please. If your account shows less than 10 positive transactions, or a significant percentage of negatives, contact us before bidding, as we reserve the right to cancel your bid and/or re-list the item.

AS-IS and Guarantees |
RETURNS |
Unless there is a specific paragraph in the features column that states GUARANTEE, and the guarantee terms, this item is listed in AS-IS condition and no returns will be allowed under any conditions.
"Powers Up" only means that the unit was plugged in and there were indications that the unit responded in some way. An illuminated power light is such an indication.
Below are reasons why items may be listed AS-IS:
- We do not do any testing to determine operational status due to lack of accessories, manuals or knowledge.
- Man hours for testing at our shop rate would exceed expected sales price.
|
While we do our utmost to provide an unbiased and accurate description about the condition of the unit, your assessment of the condition or appearance may be different. Therefore, please scrutinize the photos and description and ask any questions before the end of the auction. If this auction has a specific return policy listed, you must contact us within 5 Business days after you receive the item to avail yourself of that option. No returns accepted after 15 days.
We offer shipping only as a convenience to you.

If an item is not specifically listed, it is NOT included. |
OFFICE HOURS |
eBay FEEDBACK |
We are in the office from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Mountain Standard Time from Monday to Friday. If you send us an e-mail over the weekend, you may not get an answer until the following Monday. If you call and I do not answer, I'm probably deep in the warehouse where the cellular signal can't penetrate. Please leave an eMail. I try hard to at least respond by the same evening. I may not have an immediate answer, but we will be working on it.
Still have questions? Email us at dilettesales@cox.net
|
If you are satisfied with your purchase, please tell others by leaving a positive feedback for us and we in return will do the same for you.
Our feedback is processed at month end by an automatic program, and it pretty much leaves the same type of feedback as we received.
If you are not satisfied with your purchase, please tell us, so that we may address the problem.
We very rarely have to leave a negative feedback due to a non-responsive or non-paying bidder, but we will do so if we do not get a response after 3 e-mails or payment within a reasonable timeframe.
